About CTEA

CRRC Times Electric Australia Pty Ltd (CTEA) was established in 2012 and is the Australian arm of multinational rolling stock propulsion and control systems provider Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Company (CRRC TEC). 


In 2017, CTEA was awarded the largest equipment subcontract in the Victorian State Government High Capacity Metro Train (HCMT) Project, Victoria's largest rolling stock PPP transaction. Since the award of this subcontract, CTEA has heavily invested in Victoria, as evidenced by the development of our 10,000-square-meter assembly plant and the creation of sustainable jobs for the highly skilled local workforce.

CRRC TEC is the world's leading designer and supplier of propulsion and control systems for locomotive and electric vehicles, signalling systems, power supply solutions, platform screen doors, rail maintenance vehicles, marine engineering equipment and component products for various applications. Particularly for propulsion systems, CRRC TEC supplied products for over 7,000 Locomotives, 1,800 High-Speed Trains and 17,000 Metro Vehicles. To facilitate its growing business interests, CRRC TEC operates in over 20 cities and regions with large-scale, modern, industrialised manufacturing bases of over 300,000 square meters.

Main Busines

​CRRC’s main businesses include: research and development, design , manufacturing , maintenance and repair, sales, leasing and technical services of railway locomotives, rolling stocks, EMUs/DMUs, urban rail transit vehicles, engineering machinery, various electromechanical equipment, electronic equipment and components, as well as electronic devices and environmental protection equipment; information consultation; industry investment and management; asset management; import and export businesses.

 Mus

It mainly includes various EMUs and DMUs that have speed of up to 200 km per hour, 200-250 km per hour, and 300-350 km per hour and above, which are mainly used for main line passenger train services and intercity passenger train services. EMU products represented by “Fuxing” trains have independent intellectual property rights.

 Locomotives

​It mainly includes various DC-drive and AC-drive electric locomotives and diesel locomotives with a maximum traction power of 12 MW and a maximum speed of 200 km per hour. These locomotives are used as traction power for main line rail passenger and freight services. The Company’s locomotive products have independent intellectual property rights.

Passenger Carriages

It mainly includes seat cars, sleeping cars, dining cars, luggage cars, generator cars, special cars, plateau cars and double-deck railway passenger cars with a speed of 120-160 km per hour, which are mainly used for main line rail passenger services. The Company’s passenger vehicle products have independent intellectual property rights.

Freight Wagons

It mainly includes seat cars, sleeping cars, dining cars, luggage cars, generator cars, special cars, plateau cars and double-deck railway passenger cars with a speed of 120-160 km per hour, which are mainly used for main line rail passenger services. Doubly-Fed Converter

​WIND POWER CONVERTER PRODUCTS

 

The air-cooled converters are highly cost effective and in different in configuration, which is suitable for high altitude on land, low temperature and other environments. It features high power density design, standard module design and strong maintainability. Its super doubly-fed power genaration mode operation can improve the power generation efficiency of the unit.

The flexible configuration of sub-cabinet design meets customized demands and adapt(s) to various types of machine configuration requirements. It features integrated air duct cooling design to effectively reduce temperature rise of device and thus ensures product life. The innovative R&D capability of the whole industry chain and complete testing conditions ensure a full coverage of extreme operating conditions.

Integrated Energy Storage System

Designed primarily to meet large and medium energy storage demand of the power plant, grid and user. Power rating is 500kW-3.45MW.

Online insulation monitoring, multi-stage fuse and interlocking mechanism for protection Modular design and decentralized firefighting provide higher safety.

Support HVRT (High Voltage Ride Through), LVRT (Low Voltage Ride Through), black start, SVG, VSG, PQ and VF SOC computations have a 5% accuracy or higher. Smart online debugging and updating. Locate faults with a fault recorder.

The IGBT technology provides small grid side harmonics and high power factor friendly to the grid – Small DC side ripple is friendly to the electrolyzer.

Mechatronics

It mainly includes traction electric drive and network control system, diesel engine, braking system, cooling and heat exchange system, train operation control system, passenger information system, power supply system, and gear transmission equipment, which are mainly used for the Company’s main line and intercity EMUs, locomotives, urban rail transit vehicles, and rail engineering machinery. Some products are independently provided to thirdparty customers as components. The above-mentioned products of the Company have independent intellectual property rights.

New Industries

It mainly includes wind power equipment and components (wind turbine motors, blades, gearboxes, towers, converters, wind power flexible support, wind power super capacitors, etc.), new materials (vibration and noise reduction materials, lightweight materials, aramid, etc.), electric drive system for new energy vehicles and the machines, components and parts products in multiple industries such as environmental protection, industrial digitalization, heavy machinery, shipbuilding and marine engineering. The above-mentioned products of the Company have independent intellectual property rights.
